Custom editing and writing for your next project.

“The warm colors, the cold blue curtains between the sun and the moon

After pretension to be singly devoted to one's task is swayed to love
Then the simple movement from inside to outside
Become astonishment, red yellow orange and eyes bright
Sophia Crystal foretells as I foresee absence of memory who
sings eternally
Only to sing more and more”

excerpt from Bernadette Meyer, “Baby Come Today, October 4th”

After receiving a doctorate in comparative literature, I turned my interests from the historical to the contemporary: drawing on techniques honed while teaching writing to college students to help individuals, brands, and collectives achieve a timeless and elegant voice.

Creative Direction

Unify the tone and import of your website, app, and other communications. Miles Davis wrote that it takes a long time to sound like yourself; but it can be shorter.

Content Marketing

I’ve helped established and emerging brands become more human, and attract loyal users, by modulating the way they talk to the people (and algorithms) considering them.

Editing

We can complete any writing project, of any length, and any genre, with sensitivity and verve. Do it with organization, and on time, too.

“I found Gabe to be enthusiastic, flexible, and deeply driven to help produce quality deliverables…his skill with and love of language came through in the work products he was assigned.”

— Tasha Gideon, CEO, Verrah

“Gabriel added tremendous value by developing, and then executing on, a content strategy to accelerate our user growth and better serve our members…he creates blog content and web-copy with a bright, clear, and steady voice. He is a master communicator, and can distill complex themes into compact, compelling messages and value propositions with ease.”

— Anna Ford, CEO, Bookclubs

“Gabriel brought his writing and copy editing skills to Bookclubs taking our content strategy to the next level. He also played an integral role in launching a successful new ad product that had a heavy editorial component.”

— Nancy Brown, Co-Founder and CRO, Bookclubs

“My appreciation goes to my two editors…Gabriel Sessions, Ph.D. and Ben Garceau, Ph.D….Their insights, questions and suggestions for change, as well as their knowledge of the craft of editing contributed greatly to the project of this book.”

— Esther Dreyfuss-Kattan, author, Cancer and Creativity: A Psychoanalytic Guide to Therapeutic Transformation

I balance curatorial and editorial roles with an ongoing practice as an author and translator. Artful commerce, to me, implies not only distinction and taste, but an ethical obligation to make things that benefit the world.

Organizing a conference like this, in which each student presented a creative project, involves managing an interplay of voices and commitments. It’s a humbling privilege, and one I’ve gotten to practice over years of experience.

Ask how it might benefit your work.
